Fortunately, you have us standing by to help you with any academic assignment. Today, we prepared the following tips on how to write an excellent academic essay. Read them and learn how to improve your writing.

Topic should be clear

Do not start the research until you have made sure that the context of the issue is clear to you. Your professor would not appreciate much if you put too much information that does not answer the topic question. The information you put should answer the topic question. Define if the question is open-ended or closed. If the question is open-ended, do not afraid to be selective, and narrow it down within the appropriate limits. If it is a closed question, you know what to write about, just stay within the limits of the question.

Write down sub-questions

If the question is unclear to you, divide it into sub-questions. Ask yourself first what this question is about and what are you supposed to answer? Perhaps, you should consult your instructor to bring the question to the light. Make sure you are answering the right question. What if your professor is expecting you to write about absolutely another? To help yourself to organize better your writing, ask yourself why it is important to write about this issue. If you have too many sub-questions, you may follow minor issues instead of a major issue.

Write down your own thoughts

If the issue is quite familiar to you, write down your initial thoughts about the issue. You may be familiar with the issue because you have heard about it on the lectures for example. If you have any background information on the issue, jot it down. Your next step is to identify what you do not know on the issue and what is necessary to know to answer a question. At this stage, you may even start thinking about the conclusion. How would you like to conclude your essay? Do you have any ideas how you would like your conclusion to look like? If you have absolutely no idea about how to arrange a hypothetic conclusion, feel free to switch to the next stage.

Summarize your ideas

Now, when you have finished reading the information on the subject, you may and should summarize your ideas and thoughts. Did your representation of the issue changed? The direction of writing which you have previously selected does remain the same? If nothing has changed after reading the information, proceed with to next stage. If, after having read the information on the issue, you changed your point of view on it, do not hesitate to change the direction of the writing within the issue context surely. You can change the direction before you introduce the thesis statement. When you are ready with your thesis statement, you are asked to follow the chosen direction.

Keeps your eyes on instruction
